During the years since our opening in 2019, we implemented environmental practices that aim to reduce our carbon footprint and strive to protect and maintain the unique natural landscape of Pomaio without sacrificing beauty and comfort.

One such practice is phytodepuration.

When released into the environment, blackwater has short-term harmful effects on the native flora and fauna. It leads to a decrease of oxygen levels in bodies of water, which can cause the death of the living beings inhabiting them. Thanks to phytodepuration, a system of environmental remediation that replicates the natural process of purification using plants and other organisms, the blackwater we produce is instead purified and absorbed by the plants
