When released into the environment, blackwater has short-term harmful effects on the native flora and fauna. It leads to a decrease of oxygen levels in bodies of water, which can cause the death of the living beings inhabiting them. Thanks to phytodepuration, a system of environmental remediation that replicates the natural process of purification using plants and other organisms, the blackwater we produce is instead purified and absorbed by the plants
